It ain’t easy being green!

Here I am again…I have neglected this little blog project of mine for about a year! I truly apologize to the potential clients who are checking out this blog to see my work. I will do my best to update this bad boy more regularly in 2015, but in the meantime please visit my Facebook page at www.facebook.com/MakeupbyGillianML! I promise you that I update that page way more regularly than this blog!

Anyways, back to the makeup! I recently asked my best friend Elyse if she was interested in letting me use her face as a canvas to practise some makeup techniques I have wanted to try out. As most of my makeup work tends to be bridal, it is fun to have the opportunity to play with makeup and try out something different. As Elyse is a fellow makeup lover, she was up for it!

Elyse tends to embrace a vintage/pin up style of makeup…she loves big false lashes, thick black winged eyeliner and red lips. I knew that I wanted to do something completely different than her usual! I decided to go with a strong contour, shades of green on her eyes, and nude/pink lips. The funny thing is that when we were all finished and we topped her off with a wig that I own (one that is quite similar to my own hairstyle) everyone thought she looked like me!

I hope you like the images we snapped of the completed look below – a breakdown of the products I used on Elyse is after the photos. ..
